Faux Headset in action...super clean look for display and proper stack size for constructing with (fenders, racks, bars...). Used nylon tipped set screw so not to damage the fork threads.

Got some aluminum tube and did another set of dummy headset. Still need to do set screw...more as I get that done.
read moreGot an interesting dummy headset from a friend of mine to duplicate. My intention is to use aluminum (his is steel) but I did start one from steel because I am still waiting for aluminum to show up.
The dummy headset will allow elegant and simple display of frameset. No more zip ties or ugly rubber grommets. May also aid in frame construction and prep. Will mock standard stack heights.

Drilling out rough size for 1" steerer tube. Will use boring bar to finish to size.

More hooks to make but rack is all in place. The rack is for service and inventory..not for display. Boxes are lined up where the second level of bikes will hang.

Could not help myself..did a closer look at the table and took a few more shots. Can not find a mark on it bit appears to be very well made.
As expected the radii tool from previous post is too big for my lathe...solution...start looking for bigger lathe:)
