After some more practice notching, brazing and cleanup work I put together another fork as the start of my next frame set.  Thanks to Dave Bohm for the past critique on my earlier fork attempts.  Big take away from his comments - work on the bend and make it more uniform and less "dog leg".  I think I got that much better this time and happy with the bender.  Used more FLUX per Dave's comments as well!






Got pedestal completed after much stress over height considerations.  Ended up going a few inches below my elbow.

Next step: commit to a spot on the shop floor and bolt her down.

Finally setting up my vise for good!  Building pedestal and will mount to floor.  Sick of rattle and shake on Chinese vise attached to workbench. Picked this vise up last summer at Liberty Tool in Liberty Maine.

Will weld up soon and red head to the floor.

Side note: bored out the 3/4 and 9/16 holes on the millrite....made easy work of the 5/8" plate.

Very happy with final layout of this one.  Slotted flatbar made for a cool effect of the blade cutting to the chase.

In progress along with totemesque...something should spark them to completion I hope.  Large saw blade on great remnant base.

Not speaking to me yet but getting close.  Old bush hog blades and industrial flange of some sort...more work tomorrow.

Started cleaning up the shop and organizing it around the two recent milling machines that I found over the summer.  Next steps, get vise situated on stand and fine a lathe sometime soon.  Will start next frame soon enough as well.

Swapped out my old saddle to test ride a new Selle An-Atomica Titanico-X.  Thanks to Velo Classique and their handy Bici Support fitting tools that made swapping the saddles a breeze.  Not to mention Velo Classique has a test saddle (as shown) so you can try before you buy.

Still learning the nuances of the mill and the jig but coming along well.  Got centering with edge finder working.  RPM slow on the mill so edge finder a little tricky but worked well enough.

Had to splice this section together to keep the top rail as seamless as possible. Can bolt back together onsite.
