Selle An-Atomica

Swapped out my old saddle to test ride a new Selle An-Atomica Titanico-X.  Thanks to Velo Classique and their handy Bici Support fitting tools that made swapping the saddles a breeze.  Not to mention Velo Classique has a test saddle (as shown) so you can try before you buy.

First tube notch on mill

After some light cleanup to the notch (1 inch tube to 1 1/8 inch tube at 90 degrees) it came together real good.  Next steps to cut more notches and create a bunch of pieces to practice my brazing.  Also, need to cut at angles.  More to come…

Recent find at the Coolspring Power Museum Swap and Show.

Runs great.  Plan on using for tube notching primarily but may mess around with making some jigs and try out some dropout notches as well.

Rare to see a Smith Motor Wheel so I took some pics.  As I was taking pics someone started talking about a Dayton Wheel.

Great examples of each.  The Smith mounts on the back wheel while the Dayton is mounted to the front.

Good day at the Coolspring Power Museum.

Power Hacksaw – Early Sawmaster Power Hacksaw

Got my Sawmaster up and running!  Little time consuming on the cuts but less noise and mess than the abrasive chop saw.  Handles thicker steel much nicer as well.  The sound it makes is soothing as well.  Love the high tech auto off mechanism as well….wait for it at the end of the vid.

As the days get shorter for my commute I dreaded another season worrying about charging batteries.  I took the dyno plunge and wired up the commuter.  Have not rode in the dark yet (will get to that tonight) but the ride in was uneventful and the hub is smooth.

OK, so I got around to testing it!  It is way brighter than I anticipated.  The photos at Peter White cycles web site show it well.
